Since our first blog in 2007, all our blogs and store sites have been developed using Wordpress. There are many web development platforms out there, but Wordpress is the leader if you want a good, free, and very customizable platform.
Like I already mentioned, Wordpress is 100% free. And they have hundreds of free themes for you to use as well. Yes, you can buy a paid theme, and there are some nice ones, but every blog and store site that Cronier Online Marketing owns uses free themes or ones that we have created ourselves.
Wordpress also offers many plug-ins and widgits to help customize your site the way you want it. One of the plugins I use for every site is the all-in-one SEO pack. You still need to have proper keyword saturation in your content, but this will help the search engines find your site easier as well.
Even if you have never designed a website before, using the Wordpress dashboard will be pretty easy to learn. I mean honestly, if you have ever written an e-mail or posted in a forum, then the Wordpress dashboard will not be hard at all. Plus, Wordpress has an excellent support forum and all the “newbie” questions have been asked, so all you have to do is search for the question you want to find the answer to and more than likely it will be there. If by some chance it isn’t, then you can make a new thread and people will get back to you fairly quickly.
